Crestwood

A diverse and historic community, Crestwood is located east of Downtown Birmingham. It’s divided into two distinct neighborhoods: Crestwood North and Crestwood South.

Crestwood offers a wide selection of residential properties. These include small bungalows and townhomes as well as large single-family homes with generous living spaces. Many of these properties showcase a Mid-century Modern aesthetic—a reflection of the post-war housing boom of the 1950s. These homes have a median list price of just under $350,000.

Part of Crestwood’s appeal are its exceptional amenities and attractions. These include dining spots like The Crestwood Tavern and Grill and Sushi Village, as well as old-timey establishments like Crestwood Pharmacy and Soda Fountain. Shopping, on the other hand, can be done at places like Festival Center and Crestwood Village, both of which house an impressive variety of local shops, boutiques, and food markets.

For outdoorsy folks, an 0.8-mile trail perched along the top of Red Mountain called the Clairmont Walking Trail rewards casual hikers with magnificent views of Downtown Birmingham. It’s a popular gathering spot among locals.

• Crestwood Park – Spanning over 12 acres, Crestwood Park on the north side of Crestwood Boulevard features several well-maintained amenities. These include a fenced football field, a swimming pool, a jogging track, several tennis courts, and a playground. The park is open to the public and is used in many local football and soccer league games.


• Seasick Records – Seasick Records is an independent record store that specializes in top-quality records and music memorabilia. Dubbed “Alabama’s Best Record Store” by the digital magazine Vinyl Me Please, Seasick Records regularly hosts musical performances by local bands and musicians, making it an integral part of Crestwood’s social and cultural scene.
