Forest Park

Gorgeous homes and amazing amenities characterize the neighborhood of Forest Park, located east of Downtown Birmingham and widely considered to be one of the best places to live in Alabama.

Perched on the northern slope of Red Mountain, Forest Park is composed mainly of smaller subdivisions, the first of which was designed and developed by the Jemison Company back in 1906.

Designated by the Birmingham Historical Commission as a local historic district and included on the National Register of Historic Places, Forest Park is brimming with historic homes and properties, most of which have since been tapped for adaptive reuse and similar projects.

• Avondale Brewing Company – Not far from Forest Park is a key player in Birmingham’s budding microbrewery scene: the Avondale Brewing Company. Housed in a historic building, it’s famous for its top-tier selection of drinks such as pale ales, IPAs, and stouts, as well as cider and lagers. In addition, the Avondale Brewing Company is also an in-demand events and live music venue.
